Raphaël Pouyé has worked between 1999 and 2009 in UN peace operations and EU post-conflict missions (Timor Leste, Former Yugoslavia, Burundi, DR Congo, South-Sudan, etc.) In 2007-2009, he was the Political Advisor to the European military operation EUFOR Chad-CAR mandated with protecting civilians affected by the conflict in Darfur. He taught at Sciences-Po Paris, was a consultant for the French Foreign and Defence Ministries, and has published articles about the relationship between peacebuilding and the political anthropology of insurgency. Since 2015, he has been Senior Democracy Support Expert at the German foundation DRI, and a consultant with the European Commission.
