Through the prism of gender, this chapter offers an analysis of violence and the means to exit violence.

Starting from the premise that there can be no peace without gender equality, this work is structured around a fundamental concept, that of the “continuum of violence”, according to which violence in the public and private spheres and gendered violence have « gender » as their common denominator. Since male domination plays a role in the exercise of violence, in the context of the resolution of armed conflicts, concrete solutions must be found to combat gender-based violence.

The study suggests the support and recognition of initiatives from those who fight against this structural domination while advocating for the need to maintain social justice in the regions mentioned.

The approach adopted here is a transnational approach to gendered violence in the the Middle East and North Africaacross geographical boundaries as it also includes immigrant communities from the MENA region
