Aïda Kanafani-Zahar is an anthropologist at Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) since 1995 (At the Laboratory of Mediterranean and Comparative in Aix-en-Provence, in the group Societies, Religions, Secularities in Paris, at the Laboratory of Social Anthropology in Paris, since september 2009. The anthropology of violence, of exiting violence and of memory (Lebanese Civil War, 1975-1990) and territorial dimensions of belonging are central in her research.
